*****PURPOSE***** READ THE BILL; LISTEN TO US Do you feel frustrated that we can't tell Congress what to do Don't forget that WE ARE CONGRESS through our representatives as established in our constitution. However, they aren't listening to us. Therefore, we must explain to our representatives exactly what is expected of them. We are tired of votes on documents that have not been read or debated, as well as votes on bills that are not finalized, having "place holders" for future additions. Changes to a bill which has been passed should be done by an amendment put to vote not a back room committee. We demand that our unique economic style, Capitalism, be allowed to thrive. We will no longer tolerate our tax dollars being allocated to bail out selected corporations while letting others fail. We are tired of pork line items and federal government waste; Alaskans should not have to pay for a skate boarding park in Rhode Island, Maine tax payers should not have to pay for a natural history museum in Las Vegas and Hawaiians should not have to pay for historical replica lighting in Nebraska. Our representatives have bartered for votes for too long. Let each NATIONAL issue stand on its own merit. The federal government should be concerned with federal issues only, therefore reducing our federal taxes and letting each state deal with its own issues. With our guidelines, a 1000+ page bill can not be "fast tracked" and a 300+ page amendment can not be presented 3 hours prior to the vote. Directed by our mandates, the quickest an issue can come to vote is 3 days; 24 hours to read a 100 page document, 48 hours (including 2 hours of debate) to schedule the vote. At least, we can let our representatives know what is expected of them, but if enough of us sign this petition we may take the next step to get this on the ballot for the 2010 vote and passed into law; our mandates to our representatives. If passed throughout the country, we CAN effectively direct Congress to act responsibly. *****PETITION***** Constituents' Mandates to Congressional Representatives Welcome to service as our Congressional representative. You have been elected as our delegate regarding national affairs. Your job requires transparency and accountability. We require that you know what you are voting on and that you provide an explanation of your reasoning behind your vote. To that end, following are our mandates: 1-First and foremost we require that you remain true to the Constitution of the United States of America and its amendments. 2-You are required to cast a vote on every issue brought to vote. Your time off will be when Congress is not in session. 3-You are required to vote NAY on any issue for which you have not had a minimum of 24 hours for each 100 pages (or portion thereof) to read prior to the debate. 4-You are required vote NAY on any issue for which there was not a minimum of 2 hours of debate for each 100 pages (or portion thereof). 5-You are required vote NAY on any issue for which there was not a minimum of 48 hours prior notice of vote (following the time frame for review required above). 6-You are required to vote NAY on any issue that is not the final product; in which there is a "place holder" for future additions and/or changes. 7-You are required to vote NAY on any issue for which the vote is held under a suspension of the rules to cut debate short and pass the bill. 8-You are required to vote NAY on any issue with any line item not on point or has any "pork" included. 9-You are required to vote NAY on any issue in which there is any line item "ear mark" granting funds or consideration to any individual person, specific company or organization, single state (or locality within), or region. 10-You are required to maintain a website to include an email link and phone number to your office, a list of all issues, day and time said issue was presented as well as day and time set for vote on said issue. This list shall include a link to the issue in its entirety. The web site shall have an option for automatic email notification of updates. 11-You are required to post online a 2-5 minute video stream OR 200 to 1,000 words, in plain English, stating your opinion of all issues at least 48 hours prior to the vote on any said issue. During the 48 hours prior to the vote you are required to respond to our questions and comments regarding your opinion, therefore, with your opinion you will indicate which 4 hours (2 of which must be between 7 and 9 pm) you will be blogging with us regarding your opinion. Your web page is required to reflect up-to-the-minute polling of your constituents on every issue. 12-You are required to post your vote and reasoning behind said vote within 24 hours after the vote. No blogging is expected after the vote. Your web site must keep a list of all issues brought to vote during your congressional service. This list will show the issue (with link), the vote results (action as well as ayes, nays & no-votes), polling results of your constituents at the time of the vote, and your vote (including an explanation). Thank you for your service as our delegate to the Congress of our great nation.
