Petition to keep the Martin Harris open at the weekend

169 Signatures Goal: 250

There is talk of shutting the Martin Harris at midday on Saturday. This will prevent rehearsals taking place over the weekends, and keep people from using the instrumental practise rooms. We need to fight to keep the dept open so please sign this petition if you object to the proposal. The responsibility for this *potentially* happening lies with the highest management of the University. Therefore it is apparent that David Fallows, Viv Gardner and Music and Drama subject area staff are on our side. We need to make the unversity managers and indeed the President of the entire university understand that closing the Martin Harris Centre at weekends is a stupid way of cutting costs because it directly disadvantages hard-working students, damages the valuable extra-curricular side of the University and is ultimately causing more problems than it solves. Anyone who feels strongly about this should sign the petition and possibly email me a personalised letter of formal complaint to be forwarded to the relevant university authority. A few hundred students signing a petition is not enough. 1000 personal letters of complaint from staff, alumni and students will be :)
