Field of Greens for Malibu!

86 Signatures Goal: 100

Inspired by Michele Obama’s campaign to tackle childhood obesity: A Sustainable Eco-Park for the Seventh Generation, right here in Malibu! Yes, I am in support of building soccer and baseball fields with a community garden and community garden plots! I would love to see the farm stand at Vital Zuman continue, even if it means changing the zoning and creating a Co-Operative “Field of Greens Market and Café” built on Principles of Sustainable Living (eating lower on the food chain, using clean, renewable energy, buying organic and composting) that will include selling local produce and honey, whole food staples, and local fresh pressed oils?....so that we can offer our children whole fresh foods after their sports activities. I would love it if the soccer field turned into the farmers market on Sundays...and catered events, fairs, and music venues with abundant parking...and gardening classes! The Field of Greens Café (no fried foods!) could offer smoothies, frozen fruit soft serves, homemade soup of the day with lots of table out back, a kids play area (think “good” bugs blown up), a kid’s herb garden with tunnels, and a grange/ amphitheater (existing, just improved, for garden learning center, performances, etc.) A filtered water fountain so all the soccer kids can refill their canteens... Community Garden Plots (ADA accessible...Gardens of Gratitude) ..and a local compost center to enrich our soils. By signing below I want to send a messag to the Malibu City Council to acquire the Vital Zuman property and/or the vacant lot next to the property to make the "Field of Greens" dream a reality!
