Every student deserves a quality education and a safe school environment. Students at Paso Robles High school are tired of seeing and or hearing bullying, for some even tired of being bullied. Paso Robles High School Students of all grades believe now is the time for us to band together and focus on our futures, and on making ourselves into the people we want to be. All to often we say and do things we find to be funny or even cool at the time, but what we don’t think about are the lasting and sometimes permanent affects these things can have on ourselves as well as others. We as teens and young adults have a difficult time seeing what tomorrow will bring that we don’t realize in a year or two or three we could be working right next to any one of our peers, relying on them to get their job done and maybe even trusting them with our safety, our life or the life of a loved one. That is after all if one of the funny or cool things said and or done now doesn’t cost a peer to take their own life. Everyone’s life matters! Signing this petition will show the school staff and administration that we’re ready for a change. It will show that we no longer just care about ourselves but about our school and our peers. Our goal is to have a school wide assembly before the end of this 2013 school year and every year thereafter on the topic of bullying, the effects of bullying and what we as students and people of our community can really do about it. Because no one deserves to feel so badly about themselves that their only escape is to take their own life.
