Name: Megan McCarren on Mar 1, 2007Comments: I agree that the Sept and Feb make-up assignments were excessive and absolutely seemed punitive -- especially since the Sept session was scheduled during peak sub-I season. The Oct make-up assignment (on-line modules) was much more reasonable.Flag

Name: Luke Palmisano on Mar 2, 2007Comments: As our US Constitution states, we should be protected from cruel and unusual punishment. 20 pages is a linear measurement; one our medical community has been aberrantly (or perhaps near-sightedly) appyling for centuries. We should not measure outcomes based on "life span", yet we should measure them in multidimensional parameters, including things such as quality of life, so that we measure outcomes based on the area under the curve(s) and not soley on a single unillateral viewpoint. Let all try and see the forest throught the trees, especially those infulencing this assignment. Lets live each day as if it were our last and learn as if we were going to live forever. Hasta la victoria siempre.Flag

Name: Monish Laxpati on Mar 2, 2007Comments: I was also wondering what the purpose of a 15-20 page paper was if not to be purely punitive. Shouldn't we be at least informed of who, if anyone, is actually going to read the papers and what they will gain from doing so. I know I will personally not gain anything more from writing it than I would from reading a handout or article, etc. Shouldn't a make-up assignment that requires such great effort and time commitment be something that could actually benefit someone Do I seriously need to write a 20 page summary of a report I could simply read insteadFlag
