With the announcement of JK Rowling's "Magical Beasts and Where to Find Them" being made into a film, the script being written by Rowling herself, it got me to thinking that perhaps other fictional Harry Potter books could be adapted into full length feature film. Of course the first ones to come to thought were "Quiditch Through the Ages" and "Tales of Beedle the Bard", but neither of those would translate well into a feature film, the former being about a fantasy sport which would require the length of a mini-series or more to convey all the relevant information in, and the latter being a collection of short stories that would make better pre-movie shorts than anything else. So after deliberation with friends we came to the conclusion the best possibility would be "Hogwarts a History". It has everything one could ask for in the Harry Potter franchise, action, adventure, romance, and inevitably betrayal. The movie could take us through the lives of four of the greatest wizards of history from when they first set out on their paths to the actual funding of the school, and inevitable Salazar Slytherin's leaving of it. Now I know that we cannot force them to make this movie and that Rowling does have pursuits other than Harry Potter, which I recommend you all support, but perhaps if enough people sign the people at Warner Brothers will at least give it some consideration.
