Name: Marisa Baldwin on Feb 15, 2013Comments: I am willing to do what ever it takes for OUR children!!!! If my calculations are correct, if every house hold that has a child in the Shelby County School systems could write a check for $85 that would cover it. That is nothing!!!! OUR children are priceless, precious people and their teachers, faculty that take care of them in everyway deserve this.Flag

Name: Larry Vann on Feb 15, 2013Comments: It is the BOE's responsibility to find funding to create safer schools. If there are no 'new' revenue streams, budget line-item reductions may be necessary. If safety is a top priority for SCBOE, this can be done. If safety is simply a pc buzzword, they will continue to seek assistance from Shelby County. Time will tell. In the meantime, our children and faculty/staff continue to be exposed to threats. Meetings upon meetings of ranking officials will not solve this. Action will. Don't tell us this is a high priority. Show us.Flag
