Outback Steakhouse isn't exactly a good representation of Australian Cuisine. For home sick Aussies, this is a terrible tease and just makes the longing for something like, say - a hot and messy meat pie all the more painful. As a proud ex pat Aussie here in the states, I'm sick of trying to explain the simple beauty of meat in a pie to my American friends. Who would have thought? Big, hot, gravy covered pieces of meat encased in soft and crispy pastry. Better than a Cherry Pie, any day. Please help us convince Outback Steakhouse to make themselves at least a "little" bit green and gold with something that is quintessentially Australian, that the Americans will surely love too!
