It has recently come to the attention of Pinetree Secondary School students that there are ever increasing doubts concerning the environmental safety of the extraction and the production of liquid natural gas. Although LNG is one of the environmentally friendly fuels when it comes to fossil fuels, there is still a lot of controversy over its production and extraction methods.

We at Pinetree Secondary would like to petition these requests:

Either

1) A safer alternative to LNG be found and therefore less environmental warping and emissions,

or

2) There be more stringent restrictions on the production and extraction of LNG: using at least 50% energy efficient machines, producing 20% less emissions than the most energy efficient LNG plants in Canada.
