Name: Lee Ann Henderson on Jan 30, 2013Comments: I'm only 14 and I know that road is dangerous. My sister drives on that road to go to work and I feel nervous knowing she's out there. Plus her friend, Shauna Hill, died in a car crash on that road. I think the speed limit definitely needs to be lowered for the protection of all the drivers.Flag

Name: Brooke Jones on Jan 31, 2013Comments: My family moved into Eagle off Hwy 16 and Chaparral last July. Since our move we have witnessed 6 major vehicle accidents at Floating Feather and BeaconLight. Aside from the accidents, the excessive speed is dangerous. I travel the stretch of Hwy from State St/Hwy 44 north on Hwy 16 to Chaparral daily. I am constantly being passed in No Pass Zones and being tailgated while driving the speed limit. I've seen vehicles speed in excess of 75mph and rarely see the Hwy patroled by local law enforcement. It is neglect and irresponsible for the state of Idaho to do nothing about the excessive speed and lack of stop lights on this stretch of road. There is absolutely no reason for the speed limit to be more than 50mph. With so many homes, driveways, and cross streets connecting to Hwy 16, it demands a lower speed limit and several stop lights.Flag

Name: Joanne Quatermas on Feb 1, 2013Comments: I have been on hwy 16 only a few times......I was terrified driving and only went 50......people were coming up with lights on high beam and it was like they were crazy to pass ,hugging my bumper...too bad....there are no lights at night and you can't even see the lines ,and of course no reflectors......I call this Blood Alley...Idaho is not a little farm state anymore and must catch up with the traffic. I had a hard time finding this site so was looking and found articles about the same thing and then looked at the date...it was Nov. 2009.......and they were going to look into the situation.....dah what happened???? It is now 2013....4 yrs later and still nothing.....the speed limits and hwys in this state are terrible....what is the problem????Not enough deaths yet? A lovely young girl with much to live for was just killed and her parents are trying to save other lives. Lower the speed limit, widen the road, put up lights whatever it takes.....have cops patrol and ticket ....no more senseless deaths... .Flag

Name: Lana White on Feb 3, 2013Comments: I am very sorry for the loss of Shauna Hill and my prayers are with the family. I am a concerned parent of a 16 year son that just started driving himself around the Eagle area. He has been through that intersection several times and said it was dangerous. I think it is a good idea to reduce the speed limit from 65 to 45 as well as putting a signal light at the intersection of Floating Feather and Highway 16.Flag
