Name: Esther Biermann on Jan 28, 2013Comments: My two teen drivers cross this intersection several times a month when visiting their father in Star and getting back to school in the mornings. The traffic is so very fast and I don't worry every time they have to. I also am a road cyclist and our riding club uses that route crossing to continue long rides into Star/Middleton and it is a very hazardous crossing on a bicycle also.lFlag

Name: Clydie Kim Fisk on Jan 28, 2013Comments: Highway 16 has a long & shameful history of not having 'enough' attention & 'sufficient' saftey changes created. Families have lost loved ones, time & time again. Growing population does deem more urgency in appropriate speed limit changes, 'more' lanes in both directions, turning lanes & intersections with visable traffic lights & warnings; ALL need to be created at many points along this highway. Multiple times progress has been bogged down, delayed by more 'studies', or judgment calls being made by individuals/groups who don't use this highway every single day. With more 'lag time' we will lose more lives. Sufficiently improving Highway 16 would most definitely, be a HUGE, ongoing, inconvienent & costly project needing a lot of time to complete. Let's start progress & take a small step forward with what this petition is all about. Those able to impliment & create real public safety changes 'now' in any capacity, along this 'proven' stretch of dangerous highway should do so. No longer continue to ignore the near misses, accidents & deaths that occur every year. Put this situation at the top of your agenda; by not doing so, is putting off until another tomorrow what can possibly save lives today. I am a resident of Emmett & am whole heartedly behind any change that improves & creates more safety on Highway 16.Flag

It is unconscionable that it is so ignored and people continue to die!.Flag

Name: Steve Steiner on Jan 28, 2013Comments: I live off hwy 16 and Chaparral road and agree that there is no need for a 65mph speed limit, it should be 55 mph from Emmett to Beacon Light and reduced to 45mph from Beacon Light to Hwy 44. too many speeders and people passing on that hwy makes it unsafe for cross traffic and pedestrians. thankyouFlag

Name: Kay Sherer on Jan 28, 2013Comments: I have lived in Eagle for well over twenty years. As our valley has continued to prosper, more and more people travel to the Boise metro area for their needs, thus adding much more traffic. Such a simple thing as reducing speed limits and a stop light will make a difference. Look what it did for Horseshoe Bend Road. I might not have lost a loved one there had these measures been in place there in the early 90sFlag

Name: Brady Harrell on Jan 28, 2013Comments: I am a recently graduated student of Eagle High school living in Star. Everyday I had to cross that very same intersection on my way to school. When I was 11 my mother and I got in a car wreck at this very same intersection. The car was totaled but I thank God that my mother and I were spared as well as the other driver. This intersection is one of the most dangerous and Idaho and I fully support the construction of a light at this intersection.Flag

The intersection at HWY 16 and Floating Feather really needs a stop light there. This intersection must get a stop light or unfortunately families will continue to lose loved ones.Flag
