Comments: Concerned Eagle High parent from Star foothills. I support drastic changes to Highway 16 corridor though I'm not convinced 45 MPH is the best long term solution. I support 45 MPH as an immediate short term solution until thorough evaluation is done. I agree this is an imminent danger to all who travel 16. Many travel in speeds above 65 MPH. The hazard of 16 nearly kept us from purchasing our home where we did since we knew our children would need to drive on it to and from school and town. Berta Robison

Comments: As a seasoned driver, I believe Hwy16 section up to and including Beacon Light intersection is very dangerous at 65 mph. It should be reduced immediately. I have lived in teh area for 15 years and it has gotten worse over time.

Comments: When my oldest daughter was attending Eagle High, her friend was also injured at the same intersection, this was approx 2003. We need a light there for sure. As a parent of a freshman student who just got permit, I am very concerned for her safety as well.

Comments: Until a red light is installed at the intersection of Floating Feather and Hwy. 16, the speed limit should be reduced to a maximum of 45 mph. Thereafter, red lights should be installed at both Beacon Light and Floating Feather Rd. where they intersect Hwy. 16. There is far too much traffic on Hwy 16 and the optics, especially at night, make it very difficult to either cross Hwy. 16 and/or turn onto it to travel north or south. I have driven well over a million miles, and have lived in 14 different states during the past 51 years. I can't recall, until moving to Idaho, ever seeing intersections with high speed travel on one road with two-way stops involving the other intersecting road. It's just plain crazy. How many more accidents have to occur at these dangerous intersections before the "powers that be" wake up and smell the coffee? Yeah, putting up red light structures is expensive, but so what ! Protecting all drivers, especially younger ones, against historically (and well-documented) hazardous driving areas, should be a priority.

Comments: It is unfortunate that an innocent soul has to die to raise awareness that a light needs to be added to an intersection. Unfortunately, too many fatel accidents had to occur at the intersection of 'Old Rte 55 and Hill Road'. Let's not wait for another fatel accident to make a decision about the 'Rte 16 and Floating Feather' intersection. Thank you.

Comments: 5 of my 8 nieces and nephews have graduated from Eagle High in the last 8 years. We have seen too many accidents and 1 death is bad enough - but there have been too many deaths at or near Floating Feather and near this area. . . it is beyond time to put a light or stop sign there AND reduce the speed limit in that area. Ada County, Boise, Meridian and surrounding cities spend thousands of dollars beautifying our parks, but not enough on the areas around our schools to protect children from people who consistantly do not follow the speed limit law, text or talk on the phone while driving or who might drink and drive and end up killing innocent lives. Enough is enough and change for the better must be made now, not when another accident occurs.

Comments: Shauna Hill was a close friend of mine, and i miss her terribly. i would give anything to get her back. i don't want this to happen to others, or myself. i am very afraid of driving on that Highway 16, and my parents forbid me to cross it. I don't blame them. I am from Star, and need that road to get to school every day, but i won't use it if it's not safe.
