   Comments: We need to reduce the speed and put in a stop light, not for just the safety of our children driving in that area but for everyone that travels along Hwy 16 heading to and from the subdivisions also located along Hwy 16. The speed should not be 65 mph! This is too high of a speed for just the 2 lanes and the areas where turns are required to exit off Hwy 16

   Comments: Parent in Eagle. In addition to the accidents there have been many 'close calls' at that same intersection. It is particularly dangerous for bicyclist who like to use the back roads to avoid traffic.

    Comments: A young beautful girl lost her life at this intersection. She changed so many people life and she was only 16 and made a difference. There really needs to be a stop light and that intersection. how many more lifes are going to be lost?

    Comments: As a Realtor I often travel Highway 16 and the surrounding area roads. With the addition of new housing developments off of Floating Feather Road and the surrounding area (Eagle and Star) more people access HWY 16 than previously. Having to access Highway 16, with traffic flowing at 65 mph is very dangerous. Can you imagine accessing I-84 from a stop sign as opposed to an on-ramp? I am concerned about my safety and the safety of anyone who has to enter Highway 16 from a stop sign! Hopefully the Idaho Department of Transportation will do the right thing and reduce the speed limit on Highway 44 from 65 mph to 45 mph through the Eagle/Star corridor from Highway 44 to Beacon Light Road, immediately. The next step is to place a 4-way signal light at the intersection of Highway 16 and Floating Feather road. Let’s not have any tragedies!

    Comments: I am a concerned citizen and driver and I am starting to avoid Eagle Rd from MacMillan, down past Chinden, and all the way to Floating Feather. People drive WAY too fast, turning and pulling into traffic is scary, and we want our 16 year old new driver to avoid traveling on that stretch. Please make people slow down. Patrol it, enforce it. Keep it safe. Those big SUVs and pickups can just learn to be a little patient; especially the really agressive ones pulling trailers on the way to McCall.

    Comments: I'm terribly sorry for your loss. I agree with you that something needs to be done about hwy. 16 to make it safer for all people who travel it. I lived there on the hwy. a few years ago and during that time a family friend lost his wife and nearly lost his own life in an accident on one of the soft curves on the hwy that hass dotted lines to pass. My husband tried to contac the IDT to have something done to no avail. I wish you the best and sign this petetion because I support your efforts.
