the city finally added the online renewal form for our dog walker permits. it took a bit of pressure but we got what we needed and now we can skip those trips to the office. thanks for sticking with this until it actually happened.

Final supporters
Commercial Dog Walkers in Toronto are required to have a valid annual permit. Currently we can only renew it in person at a few City centers during business hours. Most dog walkers are working during this time, we are requesting an on line renewal process.
Please sign this petition so we can let the City know we are willing to keep our permits in good standing, we just need the on line convenience afforded to many other permit renewals offered by the City.

im hearing from so many of you about how frustrating it is to lose a half day of work just to stand in a line for a permit renewal. it really shows how outdated this system is and why we need to keep pushing for something that actually makes sense for our schedules.

im honestly amazed at how many people signed this so quickly. it really shows the city how much we all need this change to make our work easier.

Being a long time dog owner I appreciate the good work professional dog walkers undertake and the long hours they can work in all weather. Being able to apply on line will make their lives a little bit easier.
For the most part, commercial dog walkers are self-employed. Please make it possible for them to renew their licences without having to lose income because they had to take time off from work to renew in person. If they can submit their taxes on line, then surely they can renew their licences that way too.
you could require us to scan our insurance info and attach to the online application, I mention this only bc I have been told the reason we can't renew online is bc of the proof of insurance requirement.
Being the sole owner and operator of my business, I find it VERY difficult to make the time to get to a City Renewal Office in person, during THEIR office hours. Online renewal would be the most valuable option!
This would be an invaluable service to our industry. A morning or afternoon spent renewing permits in person generally represents a loss of income for dog walkers so this option would be fantastic. Thank you.
Renewal of licenses should be online. If a person has already received their license, allow them to renew it online.

I like to keep my permit up to date. However, almost every year when I go to renew it, there is some trouble at the permit office. The printer does not work, or the one person who know how to use the system is away. Many years it has taken multiple visits to renew the permit. Would be amazing if this could be made a professional process by the city.
