We the undersigned community request Antioch University policy adhere to the growing need for support towards a sustainable L.A. campus in the face of growing concern of our environmental and social impact. We recognize an immediate need for more sustainable actions in Los Angeles to counter social dominance in low income and communities of color. We understand that dominance takes place in multiple areas of concern including but not limited to; food access, waste, transportation and water systems. We advocate for support towards creating a permanent eco-representative position(s) on campus to give opportunity to actively participate in lowering our collective footprint. We commit to individually supporting institution led support efforts such as recycling, composting, and purchase of environmentally friendly and non-gmo products. We know that Antioch University Los Angeles is committed in both our mission and vision to engaging learners hands on and we honor that approach, asking that it extend to the allowance of a more sustainable campus for our personal, professional and academic overall health. We realize that AULA is the only Antioch campus to rent from an outside source and we assume responsibility for our commitment without enforcing on our landlords our commitment as Antiochans to environmental and social justice.
