This petition is for the purpose of showing Major League Baseball Commissioner that the fans across the World want Pete "Charlie Hustle" Rose to have the opportunity to be voted on for induction into the Hall of Fame. Based on his career as a player and what he did on the field he deserves the opportunity to be voted on by the Veterans Committee. Too often in our society we wait until someone leaves this earth to then posthumuosly give them the honor they deserve. If you believe Pete Rose deserves the opportunity to be voted on by his peers on the MLB Veterans Committee please sign this petition that will be delivered to the Commisioner of MLB prior to this years 2012 World Series. Pete Rose has been punished more than anyone in the history of the game. He had the thing that he loved and defined him "The Game of Baseball" taken away from him. Its been over 20 years, he is now 71 years old. Even hardened criminals get a 2nd chance. In todays game if a player uses a banned substance they get suspended for 50 games. As Pete Rose did something wrong but what about all the good he did while playing. He was all that was good in the game, hard work, desire to win, team player, and on and on. Shouldn't all those things that he did for the game count for something. No matter if you love him or hate him you must respect how he approached the game as a player. Thats why Whitey Ford nicknamed him "Charlie Hustle" If you believe its time for Pete Rose to have the opportunity to be inducted into the HOF for what he did as a player. We need to send the message to the MLB Commissioner. Please join me in spreading this message and getting this signed by baseball fans all over the world. "For Pete's Sake" lets get it done! 2013 will be the 50 year anniversary of Pete Rose getting his first major league hit on April 13, 1963. Its time to give the Hit King a chance at induction for what he did as a player. In case anyone has forgetten what Pete Rose did as a player the highlights are listed for a reminder. These are only stats he meant so much more to those of us who grew up watching him.
