After a successful event held in March 2015, the festival now seeks to gain a three year rental & permit agreement with the Buloke Council. A three year agreement will mean long term planning can commence, and the community plan for the benefits.

By signing the petition you can show your support to the council in making an agreement and issuing a long term permit for the event.

This event is crucial for the economic survival of our town. I grew up in wooroonook and our family farm is still there....the lakes are our heritage and have never looked better, this is due to the money injection from the festival. Change your decision!!!!!!!!

The Maitreya Festival is a gift to our town. It is full of business opportunities for the whole community and we should do all we can to keep it here and build on our hospitality. Any thing less would be negligent and an opportunity lost.

Please give Maitreya its permit. Every year I go to this event and always buy goods at the local independent supermarket. My friends and I love to support the local pub with a meal before and after the event. Lets us help the locals, as most are doing it tough.

I felt maitreya was all in all a good positive event to have occur in such a rural town both for the community, local businesses and for the event itself as it is host to such a beautiful landscape, it would be a shame to see it not continue in 2016.

It is vital for arts culture within the state of Victoria that festivals like Maitreya be allowed to go ahead. It is important from both a cultural and economic standpoint for the communities that hosts these electronic music festivals.

To our esteemed councillors, Money injected from outside our community right now is essential and your support would be welcomed. Time to look at how you can overcome your misgivings with innovation rather than accept them: defeated.
