I am a resident in the Town of Blacksburg and I support the current Future Land Use designations on the Northeast Corner of Nellie’s Cave Road and Grissom Lane. The Town of Blacksburg's Housing and Neighborhood Services has submitted an application to modify the future land use designation of 20 parcels at the NorthEast Corner of Nellie’s Cave Road and Grissom Lane. They would like to change the designation from single/residential to high density housing. The lot is an 8 acre lot and they plan to construct between 6-9 dwellings on this lot (e.g., duplexes, triplexes). This neighborhood is not equipped to meet this huge influx. The access roads are small and Nellie's cave road feeds into other communities and travel on this road will become problematic. This will also require cutting down wooded lots. Many of the surrounding houses are single/residential houses and this development will impact this community negatively. I am opposed to this proposed modification to the 2046 Comprehensive Plan.
