Comments: this is poor taste and poor judgement and completely offensive to those of us aware of Ciudad Juarez' history.

Comments: I believe Mac and Rodarte can afford to dig deeper, much deeper. So much more they could do than just donate money too with their connections, influence and buying power.

Comments: What is amazing about this story is it has been the beauty bloggers/make up artists who (use/promote MAC's products) that have raised awareness. MAC I hope you do the right thing here - you have an really good opportunity to help those women in Juarez.

Comments: Donating all earnings from this collection is the right thing to do. It was wrong to release it in the first place - I'm hoping MAC will see this and make it right.

Comments: I urge both Rodarte & MAC cosmetics to donate 100% of the proceeds from this line to the above cause. By doing so they could educate millions to this outrageous injustice to the women of this region. The fact that these product lines even came to fruition with such ignorance by these companies is insulting and should tell any living being with a conscious that this situation deserves the attention & support of a global company like MAC.

Comments: I'm all for the beauty industrial complex branching out and featuring other parts of the world but there's a way to do it respectfully and this was not it! Shame on MAC, a champion in the HIV/AIDS arena and Rodarte for their corporate colonialism and it's sad that they had to be shamed into being responsible corporate citizens!

Comments: I will admit I was not aware of this issue before this whole thing hit the fan. But I am now, and I don't like to see my favorite brand of makeup act unaware. I am concerned with the promo image - I would like to see that changed. I don't want to see this swept under the carpet. I think that the inspiration for it all lies in Rodarte and I would like to see more of a commitment from them as well.

Comments: MAC and Rodarte - your actions and pathetic attempts to fob us off with a half hearted apology, and failure to make any decent attempt to make up for it are very depressing. $100 000 is nothing - it equates to around £60 000 in the UK, and to put this in perspective, an average MAC counter in the UK will make more than this in a week. As for Rodarte, I don't even know what to say - they appear utterly remorseless.

Comments: Every semester I show my students Jean Kilborne's work on women and advertising, and every semester the climate for women's safety gets worse. What's it going to take to convince the manufacturers of products aimed at women that profiting from the exploitation -- and in this case countless deaths -- of women is not just a poor marketing strategy; it's a form of violence in itself?

Comments: Corporates have to become much more responsible for how they influence, support and nourish our communities. It can become one of their greatest assets; to demonstrate they care far above shareholder profits. Certainly me, my family and friends won't spend money with any organisation that shirks this responisbility.

Comments: $100,000 donation is unacceptable considering the gravity of the situation. MAC will still be profiting from these offensively named products women will use to beautiful themselves, all while the women who these products were made after continue to suffer. Sickening. Do the right thing MAC!
