Another piece of Harrisonburg and Rockingham county history is on the chopping block. There are many out there who would appreciate your support in helping to keep this part of our heritage alive. Mabel Memorial Chapel and the cemetary surrounding the chapel have been in existence and served the local area for more than 100 years. Please consider helping us persuade the council at First Presbyterian Church that this building is worth saving, not only for its historical value, but also because of its worth to the parishoners.
The momentum behind this fight is proof that people are finally waking up to the arrogance of the First Presbyterian Church council. They thought they could tear down our history without a word of protest but they were dead wrong.

I grew up going to services here. So many memories in those walls. Hope the church changes its mind.

This place means so much to our family. CANT believe they would even consider getting rid of it.

My grandmother is buried there. It would be a total disgrace to let that place fall apart. Please save it.
