Comments: If not a traffic light... Than something else. Maybe a lane just for semi trucks. Or change the speed limit. But not do nothing !!!!

Comments: I take M40 very often to visit family in Hamilton and allegan. I have been taking 96th st for the past year due to almost being hit 4 times at that intersection at the "Truck stop". The semi trucks pull out in front of traffic there quite often. The last time I took M40 I almost ended up underneath the semi truck. Thank goodness for antilock brakes. There needs to be something done! A light would be the most effective, and give the semi truck drivers time to leave the Truck stop. Thus giving drivers ample time to stop.

Comments: I'd really like to see a light. I don't think that a speed limit change would do the job.

Comments: I was raised in a much larger city and moved to Holland, MI a little over 5 years ago. My wife and I travel this road often and hope that a change is made soon. Many lives are at stake as this road is travelled. A decision needs to be made soon before more lives are taken,

Comments: As a former truck driver, I know that pulling out of any driveway is a dangerous situation. If people would just slow down and take their time and use more caution, these types of accidents could be avoided. Unfortunately we are all in a hurry these days! You can see it on the highways at any time any where. Most people are speeding, especially truck drivers!

Comments: I drive that stretch of road daily and I do not think a lower speed limit would have prevented the crash. However, I believe a light at the truck stop would have prevented it.

Comments: I use to live in Allegan and drove that road everyday to work and back home, I too almost got into an accident with a semi, I feel for the truckers, some of the people in cars don't yield to the semi, or slow down when they see a truck pulling out of the truck stop. I agree with lower the speed limit and putting a traffic light there, I believe there should be both.

Comments: Although I personally do not live in Holland I have several friends that do, including a couple who know the victims involved in the monday accident. I DO know the truck stop and have seen several close calls and I do not drive a tractor/trailer. As a former firefighter I know the impact incidents like this have on responding personel so a traffic light/slow down lane would very much reduce the number of close calls and have a positive impact on the community, not to mention saving responding police/fire/paramedics the grief of knowing something could have been done to help prevent tragedies like what happened.
