Name: Lugia on Dec 18, 2007Comments: After years of staying far away from daytime television, this storyline brought me back because it was compelling and presented in a convincing way. The lack of screentime lately and affections shown makes me doubt that these are even the same characters I watched over the summer. I expect it to continue as strong as it started and not go out with a whimper. That would not do the actors' massive appeal justice or let this be remembered as the groundbreaking storyline it is.Flag

Name: Cydney Williams on Dec 18, 2007Comments: Subject: Luke and Noah of As the World turns My name is Cydney Williams, and I am a 29-year- old, middle class, single woman. I was a long time watcher of ABC soaps who gave up on daytime soaps a long time a go, until my friends began talking about this beautiful new couple-- a gay teen couple. I was intrigued and began to watch clips of the couple, ignoring the rest of the storylines. (I began to be drawn into other storylines on As the World Turns. I am now watching the The Guidling Light, which precedes ATWT, as well. ) Luke and Noah are star-crossed, confused, lonely people who found love and solace in each other. They are magical. Luke Snyder and Noah Meyer, as portrayed by Van Hansis and Jake Silberman respecively, are the most moving supercouple is soaps since Tad and Dixie from All My Children. They desrve to have as much screen time as the other couples, and that screen time should portray the kind of deep, passionate relationship that is the hallwark of soaps in general and ATWT in particular. Every time they grasp each other's wrists rather than kiss, the versimilitude of the realtionship is threatened. The relationship, which was sealed with two kisses over the summer, is being neutered by the lack of physical expression between them. This, quite honestly, smacks of network cowardice. Soaps broke down barriers in the past by showing how women can be powerful and by racially integrating the casts. Continue to break down the barriers by protraying a full-fledged relationship between two men, with all the passion, the angst, hope, and drama that heterosexual couples recieve automatically.Flag

I now watch the show regularly, but am willing to stop if the boys' relationship continues to be shown with such lack of physicality. It has become distracting towards the storyline and is displeasing to the say the least.Flag

They've definitely got me compulsively checking for updates on their adorable, developing love. Please, don't let that die. This petition is an obvious example of how many viewers you've gained by this couple, and how many you'll keep because of it.Flag

Name: John Moyna on Dec 18, 2007Comments: For the past 36 years I have not been able to watch TV on any regular daily basis. Im usually not interested in watching daytime dramas as they tend to be overly psychotic, trivial and unbelievable. Within the past 6 months, by lucky chance, I found out about this story being played on the program ATWT, and appreciate it very much. Last month I finally bought a TV just to watch this particular story. Please do NOT drop the LUKE & NOAH storyline, but allow the viewers the enjoyable fantasy of Gay Romance. Im JONNYBABE285 at Gay D.T Com and approve this message.Flag

Name: Skylar Baker-Jordan on Dec 18, 2007Comments: I started watching ATWT because of the Nuke storyline and truly would like to see it progress more realistically. As a fan of All My Children I've always been disheartened by the "kid gloves" used to handle any story regarding a romance for Bianca, the only lesbian character. I started watching ATWT cos I thought that perhaps a daytime drama would handle a gay relationship in a frank, realistic, adult manner. While ATWT has given Luke and Noah better treatment than similar stories on daytime have thusly received, I would like to see more of them on the screen and more affection akin to what is seen in heterosexual couples.Flag

While I follow some of the other storylines I think for the most part they are silly or completely asnine. How out of touch with women( your core audience) are you that you think they all want children. One "pregenancy" storyline at a time is enough. You currently have three! Views want romance and a good story. Other than fundementalist ( and why should they be watching a show that contains adultery, murder, and stealing anyway!) I think you will find that many women will embrace romance any its all myriad forms.Flag
