The petition

Luis Rodriguez was shot and killed on November 1, 2007.

He was shot twice.

The person who shot Luis, Ryan Berendt, was taken into custody and he admitted to shooting Luis.

Ryan admitted to getting into his car, taking out a gun, getting out of his car and shooting Luis not once, but twice, in cold blood.

Ryan claims that he was acting in self-defense.

Luis was unarmed and he was about 6-8 inches shorter than Ryan.

Furthermore, Ryan had told several people that he wanted to kill Luis because he was a "spic".

Ryan is free! He has NEVER been arrested! He has NEVER been charged with murder!

According to a statement obtained by Luis' family's private investigator, Luis may have been trying to retrieve his daughter from Ryan's car when he was shot.

[Ryan was dating Luis' ex-girlfriend].

Please sign this petition and urge the Sunrise Police Department and the Florida State Attorney's Office to investigate Luis Rodriguez's death thoroughly and to find a way to arrest and charge Ryan Berendt with murder.

If you knew Luis, please write a quick statement describing the type of person that he was.

Please pass this on to your family and friends.
