The purpose of this petition is to increase the number of yoga classes at the Highland Park Lifetime Fitness (HPLTF) in Minnesota. One or both of the following methods are suggested to accomplish this goal: 1. Lease additional space to house another studio 2. Fix the heating issues with the current studio in order to allow for a variety hot style yoga classes The main competition of HPLTF is CorePower Yoga located 0.5 miles away on Cleveland Ave. The only obvious advantages CorePower has over HPLTF is that they have two yoga studios, allowing back-to-back classes, and temperature and humidity controlled rooms. LTF has the potential to dominate the yoga market in Highland Park. With the addition of another studio and climate control I believe they will. Advantages of HPLTF include child care, free yoga mats to borrow, towel service, locker rooms with a sauna, other group fitness classes, machines, free weights, cafe, and a parking ramp. The child care is a significant advantage for moms because no other yoga studios in the area offer child care services. HPLTF offers moms 2 hours a day of free child care while they work out. If HPLTF had two yoga studios they could help these moms optimize their workout by allowing them to take 2 yoga classes back-to-back. Having two yoga studios would also help minimize the class size during peak hours and allow HPLTF to offer more 90-minute classes.
