This petition is designed to get the speed limits for transport trucks and heavy trucks to be lowered in Ontario. These trucks should not be travelling at the same speed as other vehicles since they are harder to control and stop. These trucks should be travelling at a minimum of 10 km's less then normal traffic, so that it would give them sufficient time to make the necessary stops. After the tragedies in the month of September, something has to be done to make the roads safer when these trucks are around. Statistics prove that many fatalities have occurred because these large trucks have been travelling at excessive speeds, meaning they are not able to stop in time at intersections and other required stops. Please sign this petition in order to prevent other families from having to deal with the loss of their family members.
