Comments: At long last, we need a hard hitting campaign, for so long the industries representing associations have took a back seat. We need a large sticker on the rear of every truck in the country to get the message accross, we are sick of being used as a government piggy bank !.

Comments: As a small business owner and employer we need keep cost to a minimum to ensure we have a chance to win work and survive in the manufacturing sector. The economy need small businesses who employ local people to succeed if the economy is to grow. We already pay highly for all our energy use and a hike in fuel costs would be a very negative factor at this time when we are all struggling to recover.

Comments: As a with any company associated with road haulage we are feeling the increased squeeze put on us, by the customer wanting the cheapest price & the increasing cost of fuel (which you fear passing on as as it means your customer may go elsewhere) it is crippling us. With reference to this petition all I can say is not a moment too soon! Wish us all good luck with the outcome, I think we're going to need it!

Comments: I am a one business involved in the tourism industry, and consider myself a good ambassador for showing people the highlands of scotland. If the fuel keeps on rising in price i will have to raise my prices, this will not do my business or the tourism industry any good, as people will not travel because the prices are to high.

Comments: This punitive duty does nothing to help the competitiveness of the UK haulage industry and is a pervasive cost that forces up the price of all goods sold. It also adds insult to injury as we have roads that are in such a state of disrepair, obviously none of this money has been reinvested in road maintenance and infrastructure.
