So at my dance studio, my teachers are being paid minimum wage, with no benefits of any sorts, by the hour. Recently, there has been some staffing changes and there is a new superintendent. This new man has just our teachers hours so that they only get paid for the classes they teach, no longer for the prep time or additional office hours, working at the computer or other things. One of my teachers fiance lost his job the day of hearing of this new pay, another one has an almost 16 month old baby girl, and another one has a small family. The superintendent doesn't appear to realize that these jobs are what is supporting these people and a large portion of their income sources, without this money, they are leading very unstable lives; along with having no health insurance or anything because they get no benefits.
