Libraries have been serving the Scottish people for generations and provide an essential public service, offering access to learning and skills' development, as well as a gateway to the world of reading. In times of economic difficulty, libraries have an even greater role to play and should continue to be supported in such a way as to ensure that all Scottish people enjoy free and flexible access to their services. We, the undersigned, would like to show our support for libraries, and urge policymakers and our representatives in the Scottish Government to recognise the enormous impact that libraries have on our lives by ensuring that services have the necessary means to continue.

Keep them open. They are the heart of the town.
Libraries are vital for the community. Shame on anyone suggesting they should be cut back.
LIBRARIES ARE NOT A LUXURY THEY ARE A NECESSITY!!!!!!! Stop the cuts now.
Use mine every week for the internet access. Wouldn't know what to do without it.
My local library is the only place my kids can get books without it costing a fortune. Dont close them down.

So many memories in our local branch growing up. Sad to think future generations might not have that same chance.
