On 9 May 2013 Sandwell Council announced that they are talking to Sandwell College about turning The Public into a Sixth Form College. We the undersigned, want The Public to remain as a valuable community, cultural, digital and learning resource that everyone can use.

The council remains silent regarding our concerns despite the mounting gravity of this situation. I am exhausted by the lack of transparency but we are not going anywhere.

The days have been long and honestly it feels like a heavy weight to carry this mission forward alone. We are nearing the first hundred names and I need you to push this a little further so we can prove that this space belongs to the community.

What a shame. It was built for all of us not just students.
Sandwell council needs to listen to the people for once instead of just doing what they want.
My niece works there and loves it. It gave her real experience she couldnt get anywhere else in the black country. stop this.
Ridiculous decision. Keep The Public open for the community like it was meant to be!
This place is the only thing we have that actually offers something for the kids around here. Don't turn it into another boring college.

LEAVE THE PUBLIC ALONE!!! So many people use this place for art and culture don't kill it off for a sixth form.
