LearnPlay Foundation, based within The Public, employ up to 200 local young apprentices. One of the reasons we chose The Public as a venue was because it was the only place in the Black Country that would directly allow our young people to work alongside internationally renowned artists and provide them with an aspirational pathway.
On 9 May 2013 Sandwell Council announced that they are talking to Sandwell College about turning The Public into a Sixth Form College. We the undersigned, want The Public to remain as a valuable community, cultural, digital and learning resource that everyone can use.

Patrice, United Kingdom1 year ago Why The Public matters to me: I have a daughter who in the future will want somewhere where she can go and do various activities and see different things. Without the public there is nothing left entertainment wise for families and children to get involved in. We dont need any more 6th forms we need family entertainment places which we can all benefit from and enjoy
