551 Unbelievable statement from Kent KuwaitThe below is from "Kent Kuwait" one of the leaders of the opposition group. Please understand that his unprofessionalism in calling Ashburn residents Kool aid sipping, - then attacking actual Pastors, etc - is beneath approach and only shows you the type of character person he is. It is ashame as some of his people are more professional in stating their concerns. read what he wrote on their message forum............. Your eloquent, to the point, factual and heart-rending statement, put to shame the "holier-than-thou preachers" and their "kool-aid sipping flocks "who came into our neighborhood to tell us how to live our lives. Please do spread the word on this group and our petition. I think that it's clear that this is far from over. GSA is not planning to give up one inch. They simply repeat "Trust," and continue to speak with a forked tongue. We're getting signatures on the Formal Objection Letter through this weekend. We'll plan to deliver it Monday morning. If anyone would like to sign, please let me know. Thanks again. Kent

553 ted. p.It was my understanding that the GSA, most of the Asgburb community in attendance at the meeting and the County agreed on a plan and the facility will only be used as a thrift store and admin office. this is great. Although you can't please everyone it was sad to see the so called leaders of the opposition group not agree to anything. and not willingly to work with the county of GSA on any matter. All you heard from them were anger and hate. Especially towards helping people in need. They simply do not want poor people in Ashburn as it effects there property values in their mind.
554 Threat by Fred Hufnagel of Ashburn StationWow. Fred's following statement sounds very much like a Fear Monger......... From Fred, Any misstep or deviation from their stated course will result in an uproar that will make the malcontent expressed to date pale in comparison. Any atrocity that is committed against a citizen of Ashburn, in particular a child, will fall on the shoulders of each and every person affiliated with GSA.

568 Rhett BreedenI live ~1 mile from this facility's planned location and I support GSA and this mission 100%. I would even support a drop-in center at this location. SHAME ON ASHBURN FOR TURNING ON THOSE IN NEED!

575 Elizabeth SmithIt is impossible to calculate the benefits provided to Loudoun County throught the work and ministry of Good Shepherd Alliance. The citizens of Loudoun have a responsibility to have compassion for the poor. GSA meets this responsibility through our support. They have proven results and provide services at a fraction of what it would cost taxpayers through government agencies.

589 Sandra RyanI am appalled at the complete lack of compassion among my Ashburn neighbours. My husband and I are homeowners in Ashburn and are 100% proponents for a GSA homeless shelter, and we are saddened by its downgrade to a limited availability service. The priorities of many people in this world are in dire need of a paradigm shift. What a fine day it would be if police officers, teachers, nurses and firefighters would be of greater value to us than entertainers and professional athletes. In our faith, we firmly believe in caring for and loving each other; in fact, it is commanded of us to do so by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Everyone who considers themselves Christian would be blessed if they just have a quick review of what is required to take upon the name of Christ unto themselves. No judgement intended, my apologies if this reads that way. I believe that other faiths teach loving kindness to each other as well, but I am not in a position to speak for them. I would like to donate a variety of items for use in the thrift store--just tell me how to go through the process. Blessings to you all. Sandra

597 Gary SmithOur neighborhoods will only worsen if we do not show compassion on those who are in need. GSA is a huge asset to the community by showing compassion and helping people get on their feet and becoming productive citizens. Those who are opposed to doing something for the needy will eventually find them selves in desparate need. Whatever a person sows, they will reap themselves. There is not even a shred of evidence that a community has or will be harmed by this kind of ministry.
598 Jim DoneganI welcome the GSA to our neighborhood. And I am ashamed and disgusted by the comments made by people like Kent Clizbe, Melanie Bancroft, Bill Alexander, and Fred Hufnagel. They are everything that a community should not be. They are the face of hatred and intolerance and paranoia and nastiness in our county. They bring us down. But inronically they are making people and support flock to the GSA. That is good. I think in the end they will mean nothing because people of goodness will outshine them. JD
