New Line Cinema is currently trying to take the name LordoftheRingsRisk.com solely because it has lordoftherings in it.
This is in my opinion an unconstitutional act and violates more than just common sense.
There is an infinite number of possible domain names with lordoftherings in it. The thought that New Line thinks they are ALL theirs to do with as they want is unthinkable to me.
If they wanted the domain, they should have bought it themselves, plain and simple.
As far as them having a trademark on my domain. They don't! Their trademark can only extend as far lordoftherings as far as the U.S. Patent an Trademark Office is concerned. There is NO trademark on Lord of the Rings Risk. This is a precident setting incident. DONT ALLOW IT TO HAPPEN! |
