We need to set an example, one that says that the abuse of children and anyone for that matter is not and will not be tolerated. By passing laws that would keep child molesters and rapists off the streets it would not only empower victims of abuse, allowing them to come forward, but make our society safer over all. However this would just be the first step of many, we would need to pass laws allowing children's testimony to be a more viable asset it the process of prosecuting someone.
