Name: Pedro Lunguela on Nov 6, 2010Comments: Being one of the organisations currently funded by the London Council, I feel the the grants should continue at least until 2012 as agreed at the beginning. IF the London Councils go ahead with the cuts in March, the Welwitschia Legal Advice Centre will have to close its offices. Members of our community mainly Portuguese Speakers will suffer, will have nowhere to go. Therefore we are urging LOndon Councils to reconsider its decision.Flag

There is no where else where there is such experience and understanding. They have changed my life and offered me help through a court case. Are supportive, care and for them to not be there or not be able to help other women is extremely sad and upsetting. I know i would have committed suicide if they had not been there for me. they were the only people i trusted.Flag

Name: Teresa Jane Timmins on Nov 7, 2010Comments: This never fails to amaze me that the government / local authorities find it okay to reduce or take away funding from voluntary organisations. I would be interested to know where they believe is more 'worthy'! Perhaps those that decide to cut funding and or grants have fortunately never had the need for use of such organisations!Flag

Name: Selwa Kazwini on Nov 8, 2010Comments: I add my voice to that of the iraqi community in the Uk and plea with you to delay all cuts at least until other sources of funding are found. The iraqi community Associations does such a marvellous job in caring for the Iraqis in the Uk and in liasing with local authorities. as you know the number of iraqis is very high and has risen since the 2003 war. People who would otherwise be destitue and friendless and alone in a new country would be lost without the ICAFlag
