Name: Alan Dixon on Dec 8, 2012Comments: The council are under a legal duty to ensure the drains are clean . If the drains cause a public nuisance under sections 80 - 82 Environmental Protection Act 1990 . You can notify the council that you intend to take a complaint out at Stratford Magistrates court. The Magistrates Court will issue a summons for the local council to Appear before the court. You may need to see a solicitor that deals with environmental protection act proceedings . These are quasi criminal proceedings . Make sure you write to the council and notify the, you intend to take legal proceedings. Also consider civil proceedings if the magistrates find against the council. The civil proceedings would be for compensation for damages again see a solicitor for this point.I do hope this situation is rectified immediately .Flag

Pull out your paperwork on the conditions to be carried out by the landlord and put some of these clauses in, or google it. May Peace AbideFlag

Name: Ernest Lynch on Jan 14, 2013Comments: Can you confirm that this story is complete nonsense! Newham Council repossessed your restaurent on 2 December because you owed over £100K in unpaid rent. .... and in any event you had a full repairing lease, which means that you were responsible for repairs and NOT Newham Council!Flag
