bolton wanderers - give nat lofthouse his stand back!
Nat 'the lion of Vienna' lofthouse, the finest player in the history of Bolton wanderers football club - and also a superstar for England in the 50s. still works at Bolton now (albeit in a rather useless capacity, he just kind of hangs around, but who cares - we look after him as he looked after us) when we moved to the Reebok stadium in 1996, he had a stand named after him in recognition of his service to the club over the years (i personally thought a statue would have been more fitting, but obviously the stand was being built anyway and it didn’t cost to much for a sign.) however...the stand has now been renamed - for the sake of a few extra sponsorship pounds, the club are not happy with making sponsorship money on players, advertising, merchandise - even the tickets and beer glasses are sponsored! they have to sell the tribute to our greatest ever player as well! this, and im sure most Bolton fans (and older fans of England) will sign this petition. the results will be forwarded to the directors and the fans liaison officer and hopefully we can get mr lofthouse MBE his stand back - or even (one they find out how disgusted we are with it...they may give him something a little more fitting) Thanks.
