Name: Joe Good on Jan 21, 2013Comments: All the stuff you have said I agree with but I also think we need more frequent trains from Lockerbie to Carlisle and the other way round. I go to college in Carlisle and since I finish at four and attend the College of the Arts that's on Brampton road I cant make it down in time for the 4:11 train back to Lockerbie so as a result of this i need to wait until 6:11 to get the next one and this train is also always on time. I really don't think its a lot to ask or it would cost a lot more to put a couple of more trains on each day.Flag

Name: Kevin McGuinness on Jan 21, 2013Comments: I believe there is a strong demand especially for an earlier train to Edinburgh, as it is the only rail service to the capital from D&G region. If it ran one hour before the present first train, it would arrive around 8.30 in time for a full business day, and allow an earlier return home, helping people's work / life balance. Also please ask if some more of the non-stop hourly services passing through can call at Lockerbie. I support the proposed later service too, but there may be less demand for it : suggest a month's trial next August during the Festival when more day trips are made.Flag

Name: Graeme Ward on Jan 22, 2013Comments: the perfect scenario is a service which gets to edinburgh at 8.30 - 9am and one that departs at 5 - 5.30pm. These services I would use monday to friday. Occasionally I would use a late night return service so that I could attend evening events. I work full time in Edinburgh and I know that others would move to Dumfriesshire if the commute was more commuter friendly.Flag

Name: Gillian Rogers on Jan 22, 2013Comments: This will allow encourage and enable younger adults who hail from Dumfries and Galloway to remain living in the area and commute for employment rather than leaving the area. This is so important, as D&G has such an ageing population and requires the youth to develop and enliven its towns and rural regions.Flag

Comments: An early morning service would enable commuters to work in Glasgow or Edinburgh and would help revive Lockerbie's fortunes. A later evening service would mean more socialising opportunities. Dinner with friends in the cities would be come possible. There are the services going through Lockerbie - they just need to stop! I'm always surprised at just how many people embark/disembark at Lockerbie station given the inconvenient times of the services.Flag -

Getting home from work each day can take forever. I usually have to go via Carlisle or Haymarket. We need a direct train to and from our cities every hour.Flag
