Local Nature Reserves (LNRs) are local areas where nature and wildlife is protected and where people can visit and enjoy contact with the natural world.
With changes in local government just around the corner, it is important that the Mill Ponds area is protected with LNR status for the benefit of both the local community and local species.
A good LNR should make a contribution to conservation, environmental education, community involvement and enjoyment.
