The public service loan forgiveness program was enacted in 2007 to alleviate the loan burden for individuals entering fields of education, public service, public health, etc. In short, the federal government will forgive all federal direct loans after successfully completing 120 successful payments on loans while being employed full-time in one of the designated fields. Although this is a relief, this program simply does not help. I am asking everyone to sign this petition, so that the brightest and best can feel confident entering fields where the best and brightest are required to enact deep changes in education, health, etc.
