This is a petition to reschedule the exams timetable for Accounting and Finance second years at Liverpool John Moores University. The current timetable involves the A&F students sitting 4 exams in 4 days in week 1 of the exam period. All of the exams start at 09.30 AM, taking place at Aintree Racecourse. Not only does this shorten revision time but lays an incredible amount of stress on us, having to revisit significantly different material overnight, for 4/5 days running. We feel that producing good quality results in this time frame is unfeasible. We are currently paying high fees for a solid education that we hope will be beneficial in establishing a career and we feel it is within our rights to have the timetable revised and rescheduled. We understand there is a degree of bureaucracy involved and that the university does have its reasons but the mere acknowledgment and dismissal of this petition would be unreasonable for a business school of such prestige. Claiming to be one of the best in the UK/world, having four exams in a duration of 1 week can have damaging effects for its ratings within the leagues as the timetable itself lends towards lower results. In summation this timetable significantly impairs our chances of achieving that 2.1/first we require. Therefore, we strongly request the rescheduling of our exams to later on in the given exam period and spreading them more evenly so that we have the opportunity to give a true and fair representation of our ourselves through assessment.
