Emma Hutchinson | I should never have known about this attractive and historic street if I had not read about it in the Times. Such places are rare and should be cherished.
David Schimpf |
Mike Lockwood |
Steve Somerset | Don't kill the 'Dead End Street'
Rafaela Filippi |
Rico Desjardins |

Chris Herbert | This is an absolutely appalling plan driven by greed and backed by councillors and officials who no doubt will have their noses in the trough. I would urge anyone thinking about it to back the protest. The plans and all those involved in approving it are despicable and disgusting.
derrick moores | Yet another example of the unimportance placed on our heritage by so-called 'planners'.
clive foulkes | More bloody local authority crass idiocy. Although I live far away now it is another example of the idiot who opens the mouth before engaging brain

Anonymous | Please save little green street because it is the most beautiful street in london
Kenneth Law |
Danielle Flower |
Chris O'Brien | I can't help thinking that if the development must go ahead then there must be alternative access routes. There is no greater cost than losing part of our heritage. Please think again
Rufus Prince |
Katie Thomas | Please save the integrity of this little London gem. This government can't be allowed to obliterate another piece of our history.
Stephen Morpurgo | Why cannot our local councils and central government understand the value of saving national treasures like Little Green Street? Developers' money is not everything.
Jennifer Galton-Fenzi | This must be stopped - officious vandalism of the worst kind. Count me in.
Alex Gunningham | Little Green Street is beautiful and must be saved. Shame on Camden Council, you Perennial Philistinnes and Destroyers of all Things Bright and Beautiful.
| 1723 | Jonny Mattimoe | I have only just found out about this action as I have only recently moved to the capital and now I would like to help in any way possible. This would be a major loss to London, England and indeed the world. Areas as special as this are now sadly unique meaning that we are gradually losing out on our own identity, character and history.
SAVE LITTLE GREEN STREET! |

Alan Martin Scott | I am all for development, but not at the risk of damaging historic area's. We are slowly losing our heritage sites to development. I think that more thought should be put into this project before permission is given for the go-ahead!
David Wright |
Mike Schieffer |
Alasdair Hamilton | I discovered Little Green Street, with friends, as a teenager living in John Betjeman's childhood home, 31 Highgate West Hill. It was then, and is now, an entrancing and unique gem in London's architectural heritage, and absolutely nothing should be allowed to endanger its continued existence - certainly not the proposed development and associated works traffic.
| 1730 | Anonymous | It would be a tragedy if this development goes ahead - leave well alone. If this work is carried out people in the future will think how stupid it was to even consider it.
I agree with the petition text as on Save Little Green street petition |
Anonymous | Please save this little piece of history.
Vivian Steed | My father, who died 7 years ago,and his family lived for very many years at No 9, which I believe has since been knocked down (?)
Paul Hughes | we need what history we have to remain
Martin O'Collins |
Geraldine Fitzgerald | This proposed development is foolhardy senseless vandalism indeed, prompted by greed and folly. I am a local (Tufnell Park) resident and regualarly use this street as a short cut on my walk to Hampstead Heath. I object most strongly to anything which would damage these most precious houses on this street, and indeed which would damage irrevocably the feel of the area. I feel local people are sick of the incursions onto their amenities and neighbourhoods by thoughtless 'planning developments' which are of little or no benefit to local residents - merely an excercise in profiteering.

Pierre d'Avoine |
Sarah Austin | More utter utter madness from developers. I'd blame planners but they all seem to be toothless simpletons incapable of handling the responsibility.
Gena Gallagher | I'm writing from Ohio, and while I've been to London, my first glimpse of Little Green Street was in the Kinks' charming "Dead End Street" promo a few months back on the Web. Why does the bottom line have to wipe out 300 years of history, not to mention the happiness and safety of those living there now? It's a disgrace. God save Little Green Street!
john gosling |
John Rogers | I died inside when I saw this. How much longer is England going to destroy its historical treasures? When this is gone, there is no getting it back. I doubt that people 200 years from ow will marvel at the "quaintness" of our high rise condos.
Rose Aufiero | Even people in the USA care about preserving LITTLE GREEN STREET & protecting its residents!
Deborah Stewart |
sarah brooking | Nobody ever consults the local community about things like this. Who actually wants a gated community apart from the developers who stand to make loads of money. It is a beautiful little street with beautiful houses so please, please, LEAVE IT ALONE !!
Elena Corsi | This makes me want to cry. Every other day there is a piece of history that bites the dust. It feels like nobody gives a damn anymore about anything except for their own selfish greedy gains.
Alexandra Mackie | I have lived in the area for 30 years and have always loved visiting Little Green Street.
Mark Stobbs | I think it's absolutely diabolical that the planning department of Camden is allowing this to happen. There are so many more opportunities for land and property developement that do not infringe on somewhere that is so magnificent and truly historic in the borough.

Nadja Eliasson |
Mark Jenkins | Please don't sacrifice Little Green Street to please the property developers.
