Do you want another piece of topical info about Banks?  In company law in 2006, I was misinformed by a colleague about signing by a document, it turned out it was a personal guarantee. I was also completely uniformed by the Bank that they had set up a loan agreement with my fellow director and arranged for him to get my signature on the personal guarantee. At no time did the Bank contact me, take credit checks or indeed check my willingness to co-operate with this. They left it to my colleague to gleen this signature without a backward glance at me and continued with a £300,000.00 unlimited loan that could be called in any time. The Bank have now called in the loan due to my colleague arguing terms with the Bank, some 4 years down the line. It transpires my colleague didn't sign the guarantee in his own name, but in the name of a separate company, so the Bank are looking to me to repay the balance of almost £400K. Has anyone else had similar experience with Banks and their very odd practices. If you call their Commercial Finance 0800 number today they will happily tell you that they inform everyone individually they are signing a personal guarantee and the ramifictions of this and communicate with them and take credits checks. That did not happen in my case and I am may now  lose my home. Bank's seem to be able to get away with this because it is "company law". Please let me know if anyone who's had a rough deal andif you would like to put a stop to these archaic Bank rules.
