Name: Steven M. Root on Apr 24, 2007Comments: This location for Grandview Hills Elementary should NEVER have been purchased. LISD is directly responsible for this poor choice, and the LISD Board of Trustees is also directly responsible (and liable) for approving the purchase of a former Chemical Research Facility for an elementary school. The most irresponsible act which LISD and the Board of Trustees have EVER made.Flag

Name: Keith Jerman on Apr 24, 2007Comments: The decision to purchase this facility prior to determining the extent of contamination is deplorable. To exacerbate the situation by sending children to a facility containing a toxic soup of chemicals is absolutely unimaginable. This site should not open as a teaching facility until state & federal agencies can assure the parents of children and employees of LISD that every precaution has been taken to ensure the safety of all persons expected to utilize this campus. We have to demand more from our appointed and elected officials with regards to the stewardship of our children.Flag

Name: Kelly Cottrell on Apr 24, 2007Comments: If there is any question about contamination, I don't see how we could even consider opening a school on this site. Let's drop this LISD and move on. Don't throw good money after bad.Flag

Name: Greg Shulman on Apr 24, 2007Comments: There is objective and scientific data available that confirms the presence of toxic chemicals and other hazardous contaminates. Nonetheless, LISD continues to believe that there is no problem with their plan for a school being built on an old chemical plant. It is unfortunate that our tax dollars goes to support such ignorant decision makers. Greg Shulman, Twin Creeks Resident and concerned ParentFlag

We will most likely seek out a private school to place her in if we do not get rezoned as I do not want her to attend Grandview Hill's campus unless it is moved.Flag
