Comments: I would like to request even in regards to Windows gaming that PC game developers work towards delivering more games to Windows users in Open GL as opposed to Microsoft's proprietary Direct X and work with the Open GL group towards delivering games with high definition graphics that match or outperform the graphics capabilities in Direct X 9 for Windows XP and/or Direct X 10 in Windows Vista. If more game development for Windows was in Open GL when porting to Mac or Linux it would be easier to make such ports as they won't have to translate the code from Direct X to Open GL. They'll have to do less work porting Windows Open GL games to Mac or Linux than it takes them at present because they have to switch from Direct X to Open GL in order to make these ports. Open GL Windows games could be more easily ported to Linux or OS X than Direct X Windows games because Direct X games would have to be switched to Open GL during the porting process -- however, games already in Open GL would just have to have its code rewritten for the other operating system but keep the same graphics subset -- the same graphics technologies.

Comments: If you remove the servers from the 40%, there is not a lot left. Anyway, I'm on Windows right now, because I play games a lot and i don't really have the choice, especially with an ATI video card...

Comments: Linux is a plattform, which is at least as good as other plattforms like Windows or MAC. Not supporting Linux is in my eyes a kind of discrimination.

Comments: Well the fact why they don't is simple. The Linux lobby doesn't go well with it's I want everything for free mentality. I bet alot of you have no Idea hw much money Microsoft invests to get some companies going to solely be able to Develop a game in the first place. Never the less I would love to see some more games in Linux. BR

Comments: With Intel and AMD having open graphic specs drivers are emerging quickly for those open cards so gaming should get a great boost. Now only the games are missing. Do it NOW!

Comments: I'm looking at tools like cedega and crossover games to play my windows games. We've also been looking at opensource games like warzone 2100 and nexuiz (quite good i must say). Most of my family and inlaws have moved from windows to Ubuntu. It's time for a change.

Comments: ID Software has GPL'd some of their game engines. Whether they continue this or not, what is clear is that free software games are only to get more popular as Linux growth speeds up. Besides ID Software, who else is going to develop a loyal following and be able to thrive in that market
