To the members of Deutsche Bundestag I urgently ask you to personally support the french proposal for No-FLY-ZONE supported by EU and Arabic Council. France is the first country to have formally recognized the Libyan opposition's Interim Governing Council as the "legitimate" representative of the Libyan people. As a second step a No-Fly-Zone is desperately needed to stop Gaddafis genocide on Libyan people. The situation in Libya has resulted in the death of thousands of peaceful protestors who are demanding an end to Gaddafi's 42 years of oppressive and tyrannical rule in the Country. Libya is close to ridding itself of this oppressive dictator, but crucially, Tripoli still remains under his control. In light of reports that Gaddafi’s own militia are consolidating and launching attacks on small towns outside Tripoli in an effort to crush the popular rebellion and retake control of these towns, the coming days may prove to be decisive. Time may be running out for the Libyan people. Those in Tripoli and outside of it, are afraid to push forward with completing the last leg of their peaceful mission to oust Gaddafi from power and take Libya towards democratic reform. Crucially, their efforts are being hampered by the very real fear that Gaddafi will unleash an air bombing campaign against them. He is already reported to be arming his supporters with weapons to gun down protestors and will not hesitate to order an air bombing raid on his own people, should this be necessary. This petition is appealing to the Members of "Deutsche Bundestag" to impose an immediate No Fly Zone over Libya to protect civilians from further atrocities.
