Name: Monica Lopez on Apr 16, 2007Comments: I agree with Petra 100%. I see all kinds of pet abuse and neglect around Hinesville. I run and walk my dogs daily. I see alot of people not taking care of the pets they own. I see females having litter after litter. Cats running all over. Feral dogs and cats, injured animals running loose, owners not giving there animals any water when it's hot or there isn't shelter when it's cold. The pets are just material objects like a car, they treat the car better then the animal. I hope this helps. MonicaFlag

Name: Britta D'Angelo on Apr 19, 2007Comments: I agree with Petra, I would like to add, that by law it should be forbidden to breed for anybody, unless they have a licence (which should cost a decent amount of money) this money could be used (for instance) by law inforcement to hire more "animal control" services and maybe for the humane society. There should be a high penalty for breeding and also if someone doesnt spay their animals.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Apr 22, 2007Comments: I agree that there need to be stricter laws concerning animal neglect. I also agree that chaining a dog outside is neglect, especially in the south where it gets so hot. I understand that Animal Control will need additioanl funds in order tohire more people to help; so I have to wonder if the community would approve of additional taxes in order to accomplish that. I appreciate the fact that the Liberty County Humane Society is a "no kill" shelter and I support them through donations, I wish that more people would. I think that passing a "no chain" law for Liberty County will give citizens a remedy when they see that a dog is being neglected; but I also hope that it will not open the door to more strays and loose dogs neither. I think that more programs to get your dog spayed or neutered are so necessary to stem the flow of abandoned animals. More education perhaps is also necessary to bring people to an understanding of the consequences of not getting their animal spayed or neutered.Flag

You need to change your attitudes and become more humane. Ghandi says you can judge a society by the way it treats its animals. Well I judge Liberty County as bottom of the barrel and the State of Georgia not much better. No wonder Michael Vick is so popular there. He fits right into your culture!Flag

Name: Maureen Bulnes on Mar 10, 2008Comments: For all of you S.O.B's that think you are so damn tough and hurt or try to hurt any animal for any reason are a worthless breath of air. Fights between animals happen...it's nature. The vicious one should be restrained and punished. Most of the injured or sadly killed pets owned or stray are killed in self defense because of the nasty way people teach their animals to behave. You PIGS that INTENTIONALLY harm any animal should not only be punished by law but feel the pain and torture the animal you gave felt. Step up Liberty County and do the right thing. Animals have as much a right to live as we all do. Shame on you if you "ALLOW" your animal roam around loose. There are times that our pets get loose by ACCIDENT....I know this first hand and ALWAYS chase them down and bring them home right away even though they are very friendly. Not only because it is the right thing to do but, because of the cruel people that will try to harm them just for being an animal and being curious. Personally I am an indoor pet keeper. If you choose to keep your pet outside PLEASE make sure they are SAFE & SECURE and NOT being abused by poor restraint. And for goodness sake, make sure they ALWAYS have FOOD, WATER & SHELTER and most of all LOVE & ATTENTION. Why have a pet to leave alone all the time. I needed to vent and hope that someone does something soon to help these poor animals that cannot help themselves. One last note to all the animal abusers...YOUR THE LOSERS!!!!Flag
