In June 0f 2013 LIAHRO, Inc., Long Island Association of Housing and Renewal Officials Inc. was created as a not for profit entity in New York. The purpose of this petition is to obtain five signatures from National NAHRO associates in our service area to petition and apply to NAHRO for Nationally recognized Chapter status under NAHRO. This will serve to give all members a larger voice. Your support is needed. Information will be forthcoming about membership opportunities, which by the way we have established at about $100 for housing agencies, we want many people to join, not to stock pile your funds. The main purpose of the association is: "To form an business association in order to advocate for housing and community development for the provision of adequate and affordable housing and strong, viable communities for Long Island, New York, particularly those with very low to moderate incomes, and to enhance the professional development and effectiveness of  Long Island Association of Housing and Renewal Officials Inc. members."
