Comments: This is not my local hospital but I am angry that it faces closure. The news says that it is in profit and serves its local community well. THE CONSERVATIVES AND CAMERON ARE CON MEN WHO WANT TO PRIVATISE THE NHS. STOP THIS NOW

Comments: Save Lewisham Hospital AT ALL COSTS. Its a well run facility with all of its current services being absolutely vital to the Lewisham, Catford and surrounding area residents. To take away the A & E and Maternity Services would be absolute madness and put lives at risk. Please do not let it happen.

Comments: One of the daftest decisions by a Consultant Did he visit Lewisham A&E and monitor the volume of people. Just as we get an up top date hospital we are now going to lose some of it cos of ineptness and inefficiency elsewhere that has nothing to do with Lewisham.

Comments: Is this a way of culling the residents? Outrageous. One hospital to over such a large area is certainly not enough

Comments: I live in the borough of Greenwich. I don't want our hospital to go but it is rediculous to think that QE could cope with the closure of the A & E at lewisham, it is always so busy up there. There shouldn't be any need for this. I keep hearing the conservatives blaming labour but the QE was already earmarked for our hospital and put in place in the early 90s I know because I worked for Greenwich healthcare at the time and my department was going to move there. They sold off the Land belonging to the Brook and also sold the old Herbert hospital, the Herbert was paid for originally by publis money. I want to know what happened to all that money. Neither of these two closures had anything to do with labour and the QE was down to the conservatives, it has all gone too far by the time the Labour got in. Lewisham covers a wide area and no way could QE cope in a disaster. Hands off our hospitals.

Comments: This was bound to happen, when the people of greenwich were fighting for the old hospital to stay open, the health authorities put money before the need of the people, believe it or not Lewisham is a victim of the closure of the old greenwich hospital. That was a PFI project and the government were warned back in the early 90s of the high probability that there would be financial issues further down the line, but as usual the polititions put their own greed before long term paitent care. leave lewisham alone kits working much more effectively than the surrounding hospitals.

Comments: I fully back this campaign. I find it particularly aggravating that those running the system call themselves "devotees of the market" and yet have put the threat of closure on lewisham which is by all accounts considerably more successful than the bankrupt neighbouring hospitals.

Comments: I have been treated at Lewisham Hospital on and off since 1946 - 1999. Great grandparents worked there, died there. All my children, grandchildren & great grandchildren were born there. I have worked there. And with many friends over 5 years we raised funds for the MRI scanner appeal. This hospital is the HEART of South London, dedicated staff and one of the best and most important hospitals in London'

Comments: I had my children at this hospital and over the years have visited the a&e either for them or for myself. This hospital is integral to the area and is of great need. I cannot understand why you would take away such an important service without anything substantial to replace it. The people whom the government state they are serving are the only ones who will suffer from this grave act.
