Name: Claudette on Jan 26, 2013Comments: It's ridiculous that Lewisham Hospital, the residents of and the visitors to Lewisham are being made to pay for the mismanagement of South London Healthcare. Our Hospital trust is penalised while the failing trust is rewarded. No consideration seems to be given to the fact that we have only just opened the very A&E that it's proposed should be closed in favour of a failing hospital in Woolwich.Flag

Name: Thomas Mitchell on Jan 26, 2013Comments: I am a management consultant. The decision to close Lewisham A and E makes no sense to me. The potential savings are dwarfed by the initial costs of implementing the change. Also, the quality of care for the area will be significantly worsened. Most importantly, it would be punishing one trust for the mistakes of another- sending a terrible message and setting an awful precedent.Flag

We received nothing but care within the hospital. It seems madness to waste £12 million and then incur expenses of another £313 million as well as the losses incurred.Flag

Name: Philip Pearson on Jan 26, 2013Comments: The proposal is not only ludicrous in the extreme, but disastrous for the community. Lewisham Hospital provides a great service for our community, yet it would seem that some do not believe that is what Hospitals are for, but instead see them as a way of generating money. This is our Hospital, paid for with the taxes that we pay and we do not want the A&E department to be closed.Flag

It is a disgrace to cut vital services to this community when failing hospitals in Tory seats are being kept open. Lewisham hospital is in the the top 40 hospitals in the country and should not be punished for it's success.Flag
