Name: Mrs J Phillips on Dec 31, 2012Comments: Firstly if Queen Elizabeth hospital, Woolwich has the deficit their A+E should be the one that closes. my 86 year old mum was admitted to Lewisham a+e in november 2012 her care was second to none. everyone from portrers to doctors treated mum respectfully and gently. she was admitted to ward and sadly died on 8th November. my mum had the best treatment we as a family could have wished for.Flag

Name: Martin Double on Dec 31, 2012Comments: I am dismayed that the excellent maternity services - where my 2 children were both born and the A&E services - where the staff were always fantastic with us - are under threat. I can't understand the logic behind this reorganisation.Flag

Name: Theresa Grossett on Dec 31, 2012Comments: It is vital that Lewisham residents have access to these emergency services in their locality. I live 10 minutes walk from Lewisham Hospital, being told to travel to Greenwich an area that I do not know is telling me that my health will be put in danger! This Hospital has only recently had lots of money spent on it to improve the comfort of its users. The facilities are mch improved and welcomed to its residents/users. I have lived and worked in this area for over 30 years and have seen 3 local hospitals closed in Lewisham. This area and its residents deserve to keep our local services.Flag

Nearly all the children I have taught were born there, also many of my and my children's friends. Where else can all these people go?Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jan 1, 2013Comments: This proposal is incredibly ill-thought through and will seriously affect people needing a local A & E department. It's quite obviously a cost cutting exercise and has nothing whatsoever to do with providing care where people need it the most. It should be re-considered as a matter of urgency.Flag

To not use these services after the considerable recent capital investment is a considerable waste of our taxes.Flag

Name: John Cater on Jan 2, 2013Comments: It's despicable that the government is even considering closing the A+E and maternity ward departments in order to save money and to further their ambition of making the NHS so ineffectual that they can privatise the Health Service and therefore rid the country of the 'burden' of the NHS, whilst filling their own personal pockets at the same time.Flag

I was in Lewisham A&E 1/1/13 and heard Queen Elizabeth A&E was on diversion for over an hour that day. Where would people go if Lewisham were to close!!Flag
