Name: David Cones on Dec 12, 2012Comments: Having spent so much money in the last 10 years on this hospital and to now want to close parts of it, is just plain crazy. And as for the genius who thought that closing parts of Lewisham Hospital and selling off some of it's real estate, so that a poorly run hospital somewhere else might balance its books.. well i'm speechless, and that's being polite.Flag

Name: TAJUDEEN RAHEEM on Dec 12, 2012Comments: We need a full admitting A & E service and a full maternity service at Lewisham Hospital. without these services at Lewisham hospital, it will be detrimental to my health. I suffer from Sickle Cell Anaemia and Lewisham is the only place I get treated and I don't live in Lewisham. Without the A & E admitting service my life will be in danger, when I have a crises I need immediate attention A S A P. The earlier the better, one needs to get to the hospital as soon as possible due to the excruciating pain one will be having. Sickle Cell Disease is a critical and severe life treating illness we need our A & E and Maternity department.Flag

Name: Emily Yeatman on Dec 12, 2012Comments: Lewisham Hospital services should not be sacrificed to support the failed PFI South London Healthcare Trust. Clearly, a review is required of how the PFI have been funded & steps taken to ensure that this does not continue, & the Trust is managed more effectively, However, I fail to understand why a hospital with brand new facilities (A&E, along with birthing centre), are to have their services greatly reduced. The business case, which must have included the clinical need & volume of cases, was presumably pre agreed. Lewisham Hospital not only serves the immediate community, but London, and Kent. I do not want to rely on a failing hospital to meet any serious A&E needs, given Queen Elizabeth is over stretched already, without these additional proposals being implemented. It's not acceptable to put individual lives & health at risk to serve political and/or financial gain.Flag
